Puzzles.
I love ‘em. Especially the kind that make you contort images in your head, find patterns in things that seemingly have none, and basically figure out just what all that stuff in your skull is made of.

The Peace Corps and the U.S. Image Abroad
I just read the following article from The Globalist. It’s says a lot of really good things - things, I think, haven’t been said enough. So I’m going to link to it here, and hope that maybe some of you will read it.
The Peace Corps and the U.S. Image Abroad by Kevin Quigley.
Invite Nightmare
Last night I had a nightmare about the Peace Corps sending me an invite. The dream wasn’t about receiving an invite - in itself, that is something for which I’m chomping at the bit - no, this dream was about a particular invite, one that I know I would certainly refuse if it were offered. But an invite like the one I’m about to describe would never be offered (I hope!), because it’s totally unrealistic, as dreams are wont to be. However, it certainly speaks to inner motivations, I think.

The Grass is Always Greener
On the other side of the fence, right? Apparently so. I just spoke with a new friend of mine from Morocco, newly acquired this last weekend while I was vacationing in Florida. Her name is Nadia, and she works in the Morocco section of Epcot at Disney World (logically). We ended up talking for a while and, well, we sorta hit it off.

A Home PC in the Year 2004
Okay, it’s a bit outdated, but still check this out. This is, from what I understand, the best-guess model of a home computer, 50 years in the future - from the year 1954. Makes you wonder a bit: what do we currently think things will be like in 50 years? How far off are we?
Site URI modifications: removed WWW
I found that there were a few problems getting the RSS feed to cooperate properly with some readers - some liked it, some didn’t. It was really funky, sometimes just removing the “http://” at the beginning of the feed URI, or the trailing “/” at the end, would fix the problem. None of it really makes any sense - it seems to me it’s got to be due to some odd pattern matching problem that I don’t have the time nor inclination to debug.
In any case, I found that part of the problem was the “www” at the beginning of One Revolution’s URI. So I got rid of that (you’ll note that everything on this site now refers to onerevolution.net, not www.onerevolution.net) and it works just great now! RSS feeds and everything - copy and paste the RSS feed URI into your reader and you should be all set. (Note that we support the following feeds: RSS, RSS2, ATOM, RDF, and FEED).
So yeah, I got rid of the “www” at the beginning of the URI (update your bookmarks!), and as such the RSS feed has been updated as well (update your RSS readers!).
One Revolution now on WordPress 2.0
Earlier today, I upgraded the site to use WordPress 2 (previously 1.5.1.3). There were a few bumps in the road, but they were easily overcome (it pays to RTFM and keep a level head!). I’m not sure how many changes will be noticable to visitors to this site, but I have to say that the site administration has been overhauled in a really, really good way. It’ll be fun over the next several days to see just what’s changed.
