A short blurb on procrastination -

I’m very good at it, you see. Not so much necessarily procrastination per se, but at doing something and then getting onto a completely different track and basically forgetting about that other pot cooking on the fire until it goes and burns down so low that its contents congeals, evolves a new life of its own, pulls itself from the pot and leaves to start a new exciting life, far away from he who created it - me, you see. I’m that person leaving stuff for so long that it evolves legs and creeps away.

If you didn’t get the rather obscure reference above, I was referring to posting to my blog. I can’t believe it’s been since last summer that I posted last! “Got a Job!?” That was my last post? So much has happened in that time!

I’m going to try to start writing here again, not that anyone’s really keeping track I think, but hey - I have thoughts and stuff I want to write, so this is as much for me as it is for you. If you read it and enjoy what I write, cool! Otherwise, there’s always YouTube or Hulu, right?

More to come shortly…

2.1.1 Compromised: Upgraded to 2.1.2

It was recently determined that version 2.1.1 of the WordPress software had been compromised by someone with what one can only assume to be malicious intent. As such, I’ve upgraded - again - to the verified 2.1.2 release.

Read the official WordPress release here.

Added ClustrMaps Link

FYI: you’ll notice a new item at the bottom of the sidebar on the main page. This item links to ClustrMaps, a tracking service that will provide interesting statistics on where website visitors are physically located, based on their originating IP address. Should provide an additional bit of interesting trivia, do you think?

Thanks -

Matt

Added Discussion Forum

Dear Beloved Readers -

I have added a Discussion Forum to this site. The purpose of this Forum will be to allow users to contribute in a message-board style of communications, in addition to allowing me the ability to post blog-style to the main section of this site. Both mediums have benefits and drawbacks, so it makes sense to have both.

I encourage everyone to make use of it in the manner in which it is intended.

You can go to the Forum by clicking the link at the top of the page.

Respectfully,

Matt

Site URI modifications: removed WWW
Wednesday January 04th 2006, 6:17 pm

I found that there were a few problems getting the RSS feed to cooperate properly with some readers - some liked it, some didn’t. It was really funky, sometimes just removing the “http://” at the beginning of the feed URI, or the trailing “/” at the end, would fix the problem. None of it really makes any sense - it seems to me it’s got to be due to some odd pattern matching problem that I don’t have the time nor inclination to debug.

In any case, I found that part of the problem was the “www” at the beginning of One Revolution’s URI. So I got rid of that (you’ll note that everything on this site now refers to onerevolution.net, not www.onerevolution.net) and it works just great now! RSS feeds and everything - copy and paste the RSS feed URI into your reader and you should be all set. (Note that we support the following feeds: RSS, RSS2, ATOM, RDF, and FEED).

So yeah, I got rid of the “www” at the beginning of the URI (update your bookmarks!), and as such the RSS feed has been updated as well (update your RSS readers!).

One Revolution now on WordPress 2.0

Earlier today, I upgraded the site to use WordPress 2 (previously 1.5.1.3). There were a few bumps in the road, but they were easily overcome (it pays to RTFM and keep a level head!). I’m not sure how many changes will be noticable to visitors to this site, but I have to say that the site administration has been overhauled in a really, really good way. It’ll be fun over the next several days to see just what’s changed.
